Was talking to Neil a few days back and the subject of a BBQ Crawl came up. Any Brethren game?

Was thinking January 24th, this is not up for debate. It is the week between NFC & AFC Championships and SuperBowl.

If you are not familier with a crawl, we pick 3 BBQ "joints" and usually see if they either have or will make a sampler platter. Usually try and get the 4 meats and a couple of sides. Some like myself like to take notes and do a write up of each.

Tenative places...

If we get enough intrest will do a poll on which ones. Date is firm guys, you can either make it or not. If Neil has taught me one thing about BBQ Crawls it is to pick a date and go with it. We will meet at joint 1 about 11:30am.

Will see what kind of intrest in the next few weeks and then go forward, hope a lot of you can make it with the date being this far out!

Wow! Is that really Bentley? Where ya been?

I have been in Myrtle Beach golfing since the 3rd, but I have been posting here pretty regularly, have you been under a rock or in a cave? :p

Something you might enjoy Country. Right on the beach, 4th floor. Waves are pretty weak in this part of the Atlantic! Mush.

Sounds like a good idea. I need to go on a crawl. :icon_bigsmil

This sounds like fun. Any ideas of how much funds will be needed? Just a rough estimate so I can work on something.... U know, the economy and all. :icon_smil

I'm game. Let's carpool if possible?

Phillips is really good. Their first one is just a window on an alley.... and the best I've had West of Missouri.

Man. I need to work harder...

Vic,

I would think $15-$20 would cover all 3 BBQ joints. We usually try and get just enough so everyone can have a sample of every item. Kind of like judging, pretty full at the end. Now if you are going to have any road sodas..well, you are on your own!

Neil,

That might be a good one, I was messing around with the new laptop and just did a few google searches, we can take some polls as we get closer...Just fired up folks are intrested!

Okay, that amount sounds reasonable. Now I just have to check with my "Taquito maker" and make sure its all copasetic.

Tell her we said please let Vic come out and play.

I'm already drooling. Count me in. Norco can carpool with me if he wants.

Just a bump

Also, to those who will be coming, if you would like to suggest where we go please do, all I ask is you submit 3 places, within 10 miles of each other, ideally 5-7 mile radius!

Hope we get some sleepers and good suggestion. I will take the places and do a poll after the 1st of the year.

Final decision will be at the discretion of the Crawl Director!:icon_cool

BTW...If anyone wants to really do some research, if you can find 3 places close that uses pellets, I will have 2 homemade pies as a token of my appreciation, whether we go to them or not!

I have my reasons!

pretty good.....

One of these days if you guys want to travel up to my way. We have a few in my area. Maybe In March or April.

BBQ & Pasta at the Cowboy Cantina

Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Home

Rattler's BAR-B-QUE

I know that there is a better choice than Rattlers. I just can't remember the name right now. Rattlers bbq is only Prime rib, ribs, chicken and tri tip. No Brisket or pork.

I still can't figure out how Dickeys does delivery catering for $8.25 a person. They claim you get two meats, BBQ beans, original potato salad, creamy coleslaw, rolls, relish tray with pickles and oniuons, BBq sauce and paperware. maybe that is a normal price for drop off.

Dickeys just opened so I need to go by and try it out.

Bently, I am going to try to find a pellet place. That is if MOM is making the pies. YUM YUM:-D
