Now that my "Big Green Drum" is an "Ugly Drum Smoker"...I need to get some paint on her...ideas?
Scrap it, then come over and get a new "clean" one and start over and do it right!!
During your last Smoking Session did you smell Burning Paint? Just wondering
about Ingested Hazards?
There was no cooking going on when the temps were that high. JD just opended her up after the cook to burn down the fuel.the result is rather interesting there appears to be several thermal zones.
Starting at the bottom the rusty area seems to be the hottest area followed by the remainder of the bottom third of the drum which is black. the area above the bottom ring is a blackish green up to the area where I assume there was a cooking grate ( is the last bolt a grate support? so 3 cooking grates in all) then above the bottom bolt there is a dark green that is constant until the middle most bolt , again I assume a cooking grate. then the topmost area below the top cooking grate, is green. is this a result of the food on the cooking grate absorbing the heat at each level ?

Man, that must of been Mighty Hot!!!! How long did it take to burn the coals down? Not during the smoke...only after when we left the lid off and opened the vents to burn off the coals.
