Thank you. It's worth discussing.I like to buy the dried peppers in the cellophane/plastic bags from the Mexican market. Good variety and relatively cheap. When I need chili powder I seed a bunch, usually a random combination and grind them in a cheap coffee grinder. Add whatever other (cumin!) spices/herbs you want. Cheap and the dried whole peppers have a good shelf life.
