"Summer Cookouts!"

This was tom b's winning entry in the 2021 "Summer Cookouts" Throwdown.


CATEGORY DESCRIPTION - READ BEFORE ENTERING


1. Let's see how you do a summer cookout! For your entry photo, you might show a plated spread of grilled/BBQ goodies, or food cooking on the grill, or whatever a summer cookout looks like to you in picture form!


2. This is an open category, meaning you can cook anything you like that conforms to the category description.


3. Standard Throwdown rules apply.



4. MULTIPLE ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED and encouraged for this Throwdown!



You may submit entries that are cooked from Friday 7/1 through the entry submission deadline of 12 p.m. Central US Time on Monday 8/1/22.

Entry pictures must be submitted by 12 p.m. Central US Time on Monday 8/1.

This is my Entry in the "Summer Cookouts" Throwdown...on the front porch!

A “what if I did this?” moment led to what has become a favorite meal in our house – beef tataki, with a twist – seared grilled flat iron steak, sliced thin, drizzled with ponzu, with the “twist being” kicking up the traditional version with hot sesame chile oil, and a bit of chopped cilantro and jalapeno.

The meat is served with postickers, sometimes we use store-bought, but this time, The Missus made them fresh.

It was raining that night, so pulled out the Smoky Joe and brought it to the front porch:
