Does it matter what type of oak to use as a fuel source? Asking, because I have about 5 acres of wooded land (mostly oak) and was thinking about dropping a tree or two to use in my char-griller off set smoker. I also noticed that our Lowes sells bundled wood. It just says "hardwood" on the label, but it also says campfires, cooking, ect. Can I use this wood in my smoker? Can I use this wood for fire and the packaged "chunk" wood (Hickory, Mesquite, Apple, etc) for the smoke flavor???
