Weber mods??

I bought the Weber charcoal baskets at Lowe's last summer for about 15 or 16 bucks. I love them. When I do chicken I fill the baskets with unlit charcoal and I only light 6 coals in my chimney, then I put 3 hot coals in each basket. Works great for a "fast" low and slow!!

The ring idea you have sounds like a winner to me. Heck if you can save some money and create your own Rotisserie setup, do it!
