Wanna peak at my meat? Father, son, rib day.

Great post mate,:thumb:
I got told here that Coronas are undrinkable:becky:
Good looking Rugrat

Correct -"undrinkable"- until you put a lime wedge in it....then....well, "holiday" as my British friends would say, begins!

For those that vacation in Mexico, the vacation doesn't begin until this tried and true ritual commences. :thumb:

They drink Corona down there? I went to the DR no doubt not Mexico but never did I see corona anywhere. Presidente presidente or presidente. Take your pick

I have friends that were born in Mexico, they don't drink corona. Even my Mexican coworkers don't touch it.

No - Mexicans don't drink Corona. Americans & Canadians drink Corona while in Mexico on vacation. Mexicans love Bud Light - go figure!!!!

if you ever see Corona ads, there are 2 lily white people with their feet up gazing at the ocean with a corona w/lime in between them.

I've been to the DR a few times.....NOTHING like Mexico, 2 different worlds.

Today cleaned up around the house some, took the wife to the mall for clothes shopping, took the suzuki out and hauled ass on a brand new tire.

Ended the day with burgers on naan. Never made naan before, turned out really well.

My son had his own little 3 ouncer burger. Ate the whole thing.

Used the naah as the bun, put on a mix of yogurt, finely chopped chipotles and adobo sauce, with a touch of mayo, mixed that together for a really good light sauce.

I also tried grilling a piece of naan, it turned out good, almost crispy tortilla like, but lost that nice chewiness that naan has. Makes for a great tortilla to use for breaking off and dipping, not so much as a bread.

Nice thread - Great Pics! nice education camp for the up and comer.
Your camera takes great shots!
As a cornaholic and corn snob, the very last thing on the plate is my perfectly steamed white corn.
I let it drain and cool for a bit,
then plate my meat and sides, then the still kinda steaming ear of
white corn.
Anyhoo, you got a nice grip on what's important! Q and Crew (family!).

I do have a nice canon SLR with high dollar lenses, however, for the pictures in this thread, everything was taken on my cellphone. Understanding how to use light makes a big difference. most people point/shoot without any thought to light source.

So my goal today was to finish off the weekend with a pork loin rack, closet thing I could find was pork chops so I asked for 4 bones worth not cut.

We also picked up a pork shoulder for preping food for the week, some went into making thinnly sliced Korean style grilled pork, some went into making Vietnamese caramel pork, while my wife was trimming the pork shoulder I asked her to give mt two thin slabs to throw on the smoker, goal was to get a thin enough slice to cook in the same time the chops took.

removed the fat cap on the chops and sliced slits in it to get more surface area for flavor, I brined the pork chop in a salt, peppercorn, sugar mix, and seasoned it with nothing but kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper.

Pulled off grill at 138 and allowed it to rest for 20 minutes.

And as you said my photos were good, I give you an out of focus shot lol.

I think that's it for this weeks grilling. Midweek grilling is normally fast cooking meats on the propane grill for speed/ease of cleanup.

Great grub, great times - looks fantastic all the way around! :clap2:

Only problem is I ain't getting one of those chops.

Ones got your name on it until tomorrow when it goes back on the fee market. Make it here before lunch and it's yours.

On a side note, I plan on slicing shoulder into strips and doing more short smokes. They turned out great and are cheap! My wife is happy she now has lunch. 2 dinners and lunch all week out of one shoulder.

Great looking cooks, everything looks fantastic! Your helper is a real cutie too!

Good looking grub you got there my fellow Maryland brethren. My little stinker (22 month boy) is mesmerized by my Q as well. Such a fun age.

On a side note, I need to replace my propane grill soon, and was looking at the a Weber 4 burner, but the price is kinda rediculous for one of the models I want (Genesis S-310 or S-330). How do you like your Char-Broil Quantum?

It's a love hate, I use the crap out of it, grill on it year round, in the snow, in the rain, no cares given. I've had it for 5-6 years?

Just another normal day of propane grilling.

It's an IR grill, so the grates are different, cleaning them can be a PITA, lots of little tiny holes that like to get plugged up, what I've found is if after every single use I crank up the heat and use a wire brush to scrap down each slot, it stays pretty clean, if you don't do that, it becomes a real PITA to clean, holes get plugged and a simple heating wont really do the trick, full break down and scrub with wirebrush, tooth picks, and elbow grease is what it takes.

I believe they offer lifetime replacement on burners, but I haven't had any issues with them.

Temp gauges all failed but no care, I use the hand gauge. (place hand near grill, yup, its good)

Main failure was the firebox, it started to rust out, I replaced that. Around $90 for replacement

Now the top understand is starting to flake, not sure what I want to do with that. The replacement lid is half the cost of the grill. Might just strip the coating and let it be.

What I do like is the company offers ALL parts on their websites and they run coupon codes all the time, free shipping, maybe 10-20% off free cleaning brush...

I'm not sure I'd do another IR grill, I'd like to try a standard higher end grill next time around, then I'll know for sure what I like more. Up to this point, I've only used crappy propane grills. This is the only better then crap grill I've used.

Not sure why but a lot of my hosted on facebook pictures have gone missing on this thread as with other forums. I guess facebook isn't the best place to keep them. I'm not sure which photos were posted but I did a quick search through some of my stuff and figured I'd reupload some as with adding some new ones.
