Hey brethren,

My name is Travis Magee, owner of M Grills in Mesquite, Texas. I`m not going to spam a bunch of sales junk with my grills, but I am here to answer any questions anyone might have regarding my grills and smokers. Most importantly, I just want to meet you guys and talk bbq and everything related to it.

Short Bio:

Family man. Love to cook. We have a family owned machine shop in Mesquite, Texas named Magee Machine & Mfg. Magee is the "M" in M Grills. We are a large job shop. Our mills and lathes are some of the largest in the region. We also have a fab shop with hydraulic sheer, CNC Press Brake, large spot welder, tons of welding equipment, and making some room for a laser. 80% of the fab shop is now being used for our grills. We also machine every component for our grills in house.
To back it up a bit, my background and degree is in Graphic Design. Ive been a designer all my life up until a couple of years ago. I've worked at some very big companies doing design, multimedia, and video production. Ive always loved to grill and smoke and have been close to my fathers machine shop since I was a child. (I used to do cnc programming while I was in college for the shop).
My father designed a Texas shaped bbq pit about 25 years ago. He had it forever it seemed. He just made one for himself and everyone loved it. I asked why don't we start making those Texas shaped pits and sell them? He was up for it and we started making them on the side. The Texas pits are very nice, but have their limitations on some items I like to cook. My staples are brisket and steaks. So, I designed my ideal smoker/grill combo that I thought would look nice on the patio. Something more traditional/modern in design and built FAR better than others on the market. After a few concepts, the M1 was born. It's named after the M1 Abrams tank. Thats my baby and it's everything I wanted in the perfect combo. We build them completely in house with only American Made products. Take a peak at my website... www.mgrills.com and check them out. I make these grills, but I do all the photography, web, graphics, videos, etc... I have 3 full time welders and a fab shop worker who are busy now making my grills while I do the rest. I still oversee everything and run the the press brake and do all of the finishing work (grinding and sanding) on every grill. I make sure every grill is perfect before it leaves my shop.

Sorry for the lengthy bio, but I want people to get an idea on my background and I am always here if anybody has a question regarding anything above. I love seeing other peoples recipes, tips, tricks, and just having a good time. Thats what it's all about. Good times, good food, and good products.
