Hi everyone, Im a new member to this fórum looking to learn and share on our great hobby of BBQ. But I wanted to ask you guys for tips and advice on Memphis in May BBQ contest, we are a small aficionado BBQ team and its our first international event (we live in Mexico) we are very excited but also very confused and uncertain on what to do or expect. Any advice, tip, story is well apreciated.

Read the TSTP guide at http://www.toosaucedtopork.com/guide-to-memphis-in-may-bbq-fest-a-k-a-mim-wcbcc/
It covers a lot of good info about MiM.

There are several Brethren teams at the event and most would be pleased to help you out. We of course happy to pay forward all the help from Neil and Mike our first year there.

What division are you cooking and what site location so we can match you up to somebody close

Neil's list is a fantastic starting point for sure.
80-90% of the teams out there will be EXTREMELY friendly and open to helping out in any way you need. If you forgot important stuff, ask around (or ask here) and you will find help.

Most important thing: Have some sort of floor prepared in your booth. Odds are OVERWHELMINGLY high that at some point it will rain or be wet enough to turn your space into muck. :)

Thanks Mike! we are H239 We are doing Whole hog and Beef.

You are in the middle of shoulders and that can be a messy area. Matt is right, get your floor sorted out, you are in the deepest mud area... two years ago it was almost 2 feet deep

We are in the middle of the hog pit so not too far H-219.

Read Neil's post.. it is the most accurate team perspective
