Just wish the egg would heat that ceramic faster. I have the plate setter and a pizza stone in there at full-open airflow and thermometer (through the lid, not IR) isn't much over 500F. Been an hour

Who knew my words were so influential :wink: It really is a nice unit, it syncs much easier than the older units.

Anyone know if they sell remote therms that work with Ipad/Iphone apps? Being able to step out quickly, and still watch the temps would be awesome....

Seems like you'd have to get the thermometer hooked to a computer with internet at some point to do that. Very cool idea.

That appears to be a 200' range. Must be a short range cellular signal? You couldn't drive away since there's no signal at that point. If I'm reading this right

Just finished reading the whole thread...

Pretty interesting info....going to look into the stoker now. Need to have the internet and my Ipad/Iphone involved in bbq...it would be like Costanza in that Seinfeld episode where he combined cured meats with sex :becky:
