The Shirley does Chicken

Shagdog told me the Shirley is a "chicken cooking machine". I decided to find out for myself tonight for dinner.

Picked up a whole chicken, spatchcocked it, and rubbed it with some Dinks that I got from TuscaloosaQ.



Fired up the Shirley



Got her up and cruising along around 340 degrees (notice how close the two thermos are! What a great cooker!).



Once we had TBS, put the bird and a couple of potatoes in there for "baked potatoes.



About an hour in, threw some sweet corn in as well.

It was the best chook I have made. So good. So, it is true: The Shirley is a chicken cooking machine!

Yeah, my probes kept breaking so I settled it them being done when the butter I was putting on them probed like butter.
