Swap out the halapenos for green peppers and then were good to go!

I'm curious as I head out for work. A lot of folks don't eat bell peppers because of the sometimes bitter taste that goes with them. You all may already know this, but I learned that if you add a teaspoon of sugar while there cooking. It will neutralize the bitter taste and not take away from the pepper flavor one bit. This has worked with lots of different peppers. I was simply amazed.
