New to smoking done seasoning & a FATTY last weekend & now want to do ribs, will do one plain, any suggestions for the other two.Will take pron and post later.
I make it simple and cheap rub with olive oil sprinkle papriks, garlic powder, chili powder, salt,, maybe some sugar in the raw, mop a few times with olive oil/vingar
Like Jest says, use the KISS method,(Keep It Simple Stupid) My rub is like Jests. EVOO, Paprika,Garlic Salt, A little Demerara Sugar, but not much, it can burn if you use to much, This is Lg crystal Brown in color raw sugar. I don't mop, but spray a few times with either Apple Juice or Orange juice... Good Luck..
Michael, I like the looks of your rub, will have to mix up a batch, do you blend it, what about the bay leaves, you put them in there whole??? I also use "Everglades Seasoning" for a little kick, but it is a FL seasoning and new that Mud wouldn't be able to get it up there ...
Mudd, our ribs are done similar to Northwest. We also add a nice layer of brown sugar over the rub and after about 45 minutes on the counter it melts and then onto the smoker. Our rub is similar as well but left on overnight gives it a strange texture. You can see the color when it comes off and doesn't burn. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Mixed up some Big Time BBQ rub will smoke tommorrow, do you let set over night or just a couple of hours? Also bought some peppers for ABT, How long to cook when wrapped in BACON?
