Bought some store brand sausage since they were out of JD.


Had the consistency of frozen...not malleable at all, just crumbly.


Looked ok going on...

It turned into a mess...good thing I made it on a roast rack ....was kinda yummy. cheese, pep, n jalapeño.

Wow! That is the most delicious looking bummer of a cook, that I have ever seen. Was your sausage a 1 lb package, or bigger? It is curious. Have you put that much filling in the middle before? It looks like it is VERY full.
 
I'd chalk that up to a win and get after it looks delicious, fatty canoes could be the next big thing!

1lb roll, very solid until I tried to flatten it...exp. 2 weeks out....Maybe more cheese than I normally use...but I still blame the dry, crumbly sausage..and me for not mixing in an egg....added just a bit of leftover cheese just before it finished.

Anticipating it was gonna fall apart ..started it face down in tinfoil.
