Pushing the UDS to it's limits

Anyone live near Cliff? Someone may want to go over and see if he is still cooking or if his UDS went up in a ball of pork grease flames...

Man that is a load of butts Cliff!
I was thinking of adding another grate to my UDS.
Anyone have issues with the meat being to close to the fire?

The cook went ok. The four butts on the bottom had a better bark than the ones on top. The ones on the top really had no bark at all. I foiled all of them after 9 hours. I took the last one off after 16 hours. Most of them came off after 13 hours. 8 is to many IMO. I had major issues holding temps. At one point I could see the entire bottom of my drum bubbling.

I got a total of 3 hours of sleep Wed night and into Thu morning. After packing all this meat My family and I left for Nashville around 5:00 pm Thu.

The event went well. I appreciate all the help.

I think a 6 butt max is a better way to go.
