Have been waiting for a pork butt sale forever, it has truly been months since I have seen butts at $2 or below, and I diligently check all the local grocers in the SoCal area weekly.
Von's Market has Pork Shoulder Blade Roast for $1.99 lb this week (10-9 to 11-4).
Food 4 Less has Pork Shoulder Roast for $1.99 lb or less this week (10-29 to 11-4).
Cardenas Markets are only in the Inland Empire (Riverside & San Bernardino counties, CA) and Las Vegas. This weeks (10-29 to 11-4) ad has bone-in Pork Shoulder Roast for $1.97 lb.
I hate to be excited by $2 butt, but the new reality in meat prices has me spooked.
Smart & Final has .99 lb Pork Shoulder Picnic, which some prefer to butt. I have much better success with butt, it is so forgiving.
I also see Albertson's Market has Lamb Shanks for $3, seems cheap to me. I don't know if it's American, or other(wink) sourced.
