The new Food Network series "Bubba-Q" will feature a pit builder in the Northeasten States that is known for his custom pits and grills.

My Friend Robert "Bubba" Kolbasowski is featured in a new show on the food network. A genuine Texas pitmaster with more than 40 years of barbecue experience, Bubba knows what he’s doing. When he’s not building custom smokers and grills, he runs his barbecue joint at 19 West Girard Avenue known as Bubba's BBQ. He also has a catering outfit and cooks for weekly hoedowns at the Hedger House Bar and Grill.

But even the best ‘cue master can’t do it all by himself. Bubba has help from his family and friends, characters who all bring their own specialties to the table. While it is about BBQ, the show takes you through the phases of designing, creating, and building custom BBQ Smokers and then cooking on them.....

The concept of the show isn't cooking so much as a showcase of Bubba's talents in the world of designing custom grills and smokers out of crazy stuff (like a classic hot rod transformed into a grill).

If you’ve ever dreamed of having your very own custom-made barbecue, but didn’t know where to get one, you’re in luck, because there’s one man who’s the expert. Bubba, Texas-born but Philadelphia-based, builds custom, made-to-order grills — there’s almost no grill he can’t create. Check him out on Food Network’s new series Bubba-Q, which premieres Monday, August 19 at 10:30pm. Congrats, Bubba!

Is it similar to this show? 8)

Gonna take a look at it and see what happens.

TIM

Tim,

It's the same show, I was just trying to highlight the fact that he is covering the design and bulding of his pits on the show, and not just about cooking.

Maybe those who are considering desining and building a pit on their own may be able to find some usefull information from the show..

He uses the 6 P's principal in his pit building.....
Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance... (LOL)

Have you ever eaten at Bubba Q? Yelp reviews are over the place (shocking.)

I have eaten at his 19 West Girard Street location. It was really good, but not outstanding. I am sure other cooks make the food from time to time so that might be one of the reasons for good and bad ratings...

Nothing will ruin the food like a cook who doesn't take pride in his work, or one that just doesn't care.

I just checked and the majority of the ratings averaged are 4 & 5 star rating, there are a few 1 and 2 stars as complaints.

He can't be all that bad as he gets the catering for the major sports teams and large corporations. There are other large BBQ restaurants in town that also do catering, so it's not because he's the only place in town.
