I prefer the Picnic
attachment.php

Picnics are usually boneless, right? I think the bone-in adds a lot of flavor to meat.

Picnics have more bones than the butts do, unless you buy the boneless variety...

well picnic is .98 and butt is 1.37 a lb i need about 90 pounds so i will be saving a little bit by useing the picnic.

Okay, Nateman, I gotta know what sauce is on that Picnic. it looks sooo good.
Here ya go:
Sweet Heat Mop:
12oz. Texas Pete 2 Cups Apple Juice 1 Cup Cider Vinegar
1 Cup Catsup 1 Cup Cane Syrup 1 Cup Lt. Brown Sugar
3 Tbls. Lemon Juice
Combine in Pot, Simmer on low for 30 Minutes
I like to mop with it and to mix it with the pork after it's pulled.

I used to only smoke picnics due to price and availability, but then switched to the Boston Butt.
I like the butt better because it has way less bone to deal with, less fat (yes, there can be too much fat), no skin to mess with (it never occured to me to remove the skin, duh), and it looks better in my NBBD.
I will do a picnic again, if I can't get a Boston Butt for the right price.
