I just use the top of the charcoal bag after I dump some out. When it's empty I save the last of it to get the next bag started.

We always used to make fire starters for camping out of egg cartons, filled with dryer lint and melted candle wax. I should make a bunch of those again for starting the chimney, since I can never seem to find newspaper when I need it.

Forgot to mention that I also use my mini torch. It runs off of butane, has a really good flame and small enough to shoot threw the holes straight on the coals.

One word: WEEDBURNER!!! My neighbors really loose it when I fire up my weedburner & hit the TurboBoost at midnight :twisted:.

Cardboard is my favorite.
Burns longer and hotter than paper and I always have some to get rid of.
