I'm not sure any of them can make food better than the next 1 using the same pellets, You can spend a lot more than I did and food may taste the same, never had any other pellet food that I am aware of. only 1 way to find out lol

Until they do blind taste tests, they are probably having a placebo reaction. They spent a ton of money so of course it must be better. Pellet cookers can only burn in so many ways; and I doubt any special PID coding can make it taste any different.

I have a buddy that owns the large (42" I think) LSG. I have a MAK 2Star. The LSG does, somehow, put out a constant stream of smoke. My MAK puts out quite a bit of smoke, but more in cycles. I don't know how that's possible without varying the temp/burn-rate. All pellet grills that I know of "lie" about the temp - reporting averages rather than actuals. Maybe the Firebird on the LSG is just really well programmed and can go from smoldering to burning without flaming out. I'd like to put a thermoworks in that LSG and see. Maybe I'll visit my friend and bring a 12-pack and a Smoke and find out...

I think it’s their burn pot design - it’s not a round cup - it’s deeper and rectangled and bigger overall - allowing some pellets to be always be smoldering. I also like the short open center Auger (less likely to jam) and pellet slide - no burn back into hopper.
