The Norwich Rotary Club will be hosting a one day New England Barbecue Society grilling contest on May 7th, 2011 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT. The cook's application is at the link below.

Norwich Grilling Application

The grilling contest is part of a larger BBQ themed event that is taking shape.

In addition to the grilling contest, there will be a people's choice wings event, where a half pan of wings will be provided to each team and they will be judged at a central location by the public. There will also be a beer garden for the public, batting practice for the kids, vendors and more.

A minimum of $2,500 in prize money has been pledged for the contests.

All proceeds of the event will go to benefit the homeless of Norwich.

Looks like a great Comp...

I'm a 26 year Rotarian, heavily involved in District 7980 ... Saturdays are at a premium for me this time of year...I love grilling... aside from Harpoon...all the Comps are on Saturday...
will put it on the calendar for next year...will promote it at the Ridgefield Rotary Club and Area 3... WTG Norwich Rotary!! and Sheila and Ted!! Hope you raise alot!
