Don't scrap it over a lid, you can probably find something that will work.

Next time you do a burn out leave the lid off. You'll have to wire wheel the lid no big deal.

Def. a lesson learned. I think it was a little warped already I probably didnt check it out well
I went from a ZERO to a HERO with my UDS, I also am looking for another smoker but will always have a UDS. Like the others said do a search and the ideas that you can gather from this site and information from their trials and errors should help you build one heck of a smoker.... Good Luck!!!!
