is one Smokin' Farker
thanks to cl I now have a char-broiler akorn. only 3 cooks old!! $200 with cover and diffuser. only mod needed so far has been just the lid latch, I made a new clasp to seal tighter.
made a trial run on some chicken thighs and legs. did a quick brine apple juice, apple cider vinegar brown sugar, salt. rubbed lightly with just poultry seasoning. fired up to 375 with kingsford briquettes and some hickory chips. temp sat in perfect went for about 20 minutes flipped them. 15 minutes later brushed with some sonny's sweet and apple butter. went another 15 minutes saucing a few more times and done!!
all and all I was impressed withe the akorn. held my 375 perfect for and hour after i was done. and was still at 200 2 hours after closing the vents off.
