Problem solved!

So I cruised around the web and found a fix from a gent named Alan. And here is my SJG using Alan's mod. You use foil to direct airflow under your coals.....Rick solid temps with the lid on:

In the photo of Alan's mod, are the coals banked over the bottom vent? Or is the bottom vent below the foil? Hard to tell from the pic. Glad to see it's working for you, brother! :thumb:
