Judges Scoring Question

We just had a similar experience recently.....one gave us a 999 in ribs...one gave us 756. Other judges were in the middle....we figured the middle were probably most accurate. The high scores are of course what we hoped for...but then dramatic change to the low was odd. It happens. You have to take the good with the bad. I wish comment cards were mandatory just so the judge could explain his/her score and the cook who put in all that effort has some real feedback other than a number.
