I’m a total newbie to smoking meat. Grew up in north TX with a grandpa that could smoke a mean brisket. I finally pulled the trigger and got a Masterbuilt Pro upright propane smoker. Tried my luck yesterday (5/10/20) at my first smoke. Soaked a 4lb pork loin in apple cider with pepper and a bit of garlic salt for a few hours. Patted dry and sprinkled some Cavenders seasoning before putting it on the middle rack. I guess it turned out ok since everyone went back for seconds. Took longer than expected but had some issues with the wind and temp dropped a couple times. I will be lurking through the forum to find all the tips and tricks.
