I am married to "Sparkcharge". He has been posting and/or learning from the forum for a few years. We, together with our children are Rub My Rack BBQ Team. After all the talk of the forum I thought I should probably get involved and check it out for myself, so here I am.
I was sort of forced into BBQ when my boss at the time organized a contest and needed more people to be trained as KCBS Judges. So myself and my husband (boyfriend at that time) took the class, got certified, judged only 1 competition and have loved BBQ ever since. A few years after the judging I bought him a smoker for father's day and we started cooking, we took Paul Kirk's class and other dvd classes, had 3 children, became bbq cook book junkies, invented our own rub and 5 smokers later we are competing professionally. We are truly loving every minute of it. Our entire family is our team right down to our youngest (who is going to be 2 next month). Our first professional competition she was strapped to my stomach and was 3 months old.
We have 2 Webber Smoky Mountains, and 2 Traegers, a tiny homemade smoker, and a Meadow something ? (This one is new to us) I just know it's a stick burner and it's big and pretty. I will be excited to learn more about that one in the future.
I am excited to learn new tricks & old tricks that just aren't mine yet. So so Jealous of the board shorts in the post just before mine BTW it is -3 in MN. Come on up for a visit!
