Help with Island Vent- Bugs?

Hi. Any advice on the necessary vents for my 6 foot long grill island that will use LP. I know I can't impede air flow but I can imagine lots of bugs and lizards will be attracted to this thing and easily get into the vents.

Has anyone attached a screen to the vent? I was thinking of hot gluing or gorilla taping some metal mesh screen.

If yes, how fine of a mesh did you use?
