Not every venture or licensing agreement is successful. I've seen Emeril Lagasse branded stuff in $1 stores. It doesn't take away from previous accomplishments, just serves as a data point at the limits of brand prowess.
 
I've got a few bags. I've used it maybe a couple of times. I really like it. You can smell a hint of post oak. Sears well. It lights slow like other all natural type charcoals, but also burns for a long time. Probably most similar to the Weber charcoal.
