Ever used one of these?

I agree, I would never pay $100 for it. It doesn't seem very practical. I keep trying to think of creative ways to use something like this but I can't think of any. Seems kinda gimmicky to me.

I'll stick with the maze for my cold smoking needs.
 
I have made a cold smoker from a garbage can, t-fal airbake pizza pan, soldering iron, now that the weather is cool here in Illinois been cold smoking some cheese for the holiday, works great and the whole rig cost less than $50.00

I was looking for some ideas for cold smoking and ran across this. Have any of y'all ever seen one of these in action? I never knew there was such a thing. I think i'll stick with a pellet tray type for what i need, but wanted to share this.

Any thoughts?

That's not for cold smoking.l
It's for introducing smoke just prior to serving.
I've seen it used with a oyster.
The oyster and herbs were placed in a small Mason jar.
A puff of smoke was added and it was then lidded.

You can also uses it to add smoke to soups, sauces, or drinks.
It's entirely different than cold smoking.

I know someone that has a smoke gun and likes it...but he also has Amazens, Smoke Daddy's and every other thing imaginable for cold smoking. From what he says they all have a purpose. This guy is a cold smoking fool.
