Okay...I have been messing around with the idea of making two different types of BBQ sauce for ribs. Want to know based on the below ingredient content if anyone has a similar recipe...that they have actually used?

Strawberry or Rasberry BBQ Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup strawberry or raspberry preserves
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup whiskey
2 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons BBQ Rub
¼ cup orange juice
1 spoon butter
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 small chopped onion
2 garlic cloves minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons tomato paste

Dr Pepper | Whiskey BBQ Sauce:
1 spoon butter
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 small chopped onion
2 garlic cloves minced
1 cup ketchup
¼ brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon black pepper
½ cup Dr Pepper
2 shots whiskey
¼ cup orange juice

Thoughts??

I’ve done a root beer bbq sauce for pulled beef. It’s an excellent combination. I’m betting the Dr Pepper version is good too.

Stubbs has a Dr. Pepper flavor. Tried it last weekend. Tasty out of the bottle, overpowering on the meat, IMO.
