If a totninos is a pizza then this definitely is.

Pizzas are made with different crusts, most are round and they all have different sauces etc... How is it not a pizza? Is there a specific pizza definition I'm not aware of? :noidea:

I hear what you are saying, but a tostada is not a pizza, Keith. Yes, pizzas can be made with different crusts, including tortillas, but you also stated clearly that it was a "tostada pizza".

So which is it?

Here's a pizza made from a tortilla:

http://www.seriouseats.com/2016/08/cast-iron-pizza-tortilla-video-recipe-food-lab.html

This looks like a pizza, not a tostada.

The bottom line is that if we allow your entry, then I could also just submit a plain old tostada as a pizza, which it is not. There is a Mexican place I have been going to since I was a kid that has an appetizer called "Mexican Pizza", which is basically chips covered with melted cheese, and smothered with chili beans. As delicious as it is, at the end of the day, it is not pizza, but nachos.

At some point, we have to draw the line as to what a "pizza" really is.

Google is wrong I guess. Dang google :tsk:

Not the first time it's happened. And get used to it, by the way.

In the meantime...

If you REALLY want this entry included in the vote thread when the time comes, I'm OK with the voters deciding. BUT:

Food for thought:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizza

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/pizza

I'm willing to bet that most folks would more or less follow the above as it relates to what exactly a "pizza" is.

That is all for now...

Thanks Moose,I am so doing this

Dang that looks good. I'd hit that. ? Did you cook it on that expanded metal pan or is that just a cooling pan/ rack?

I'm getting inspired to make some pizza! Might enter this one.

Bob

That's a pizza screen sitting on top of a pizza pan. I just use that while the pizzas are cooling down a bit, to help preserve the crispy crust. Think i got the idea from someone on here actually... I haven't cooked on one before but I know lots of people do and if i didn't have a Blackstone oven and instead was cooking in my home oven I'd be cooking a few on the screen in comparison to a stone or steel.

Whisky, I also use pizza screens as a cooling surface after I pull the pizza out of the BS oven. Really helps to keep the crust nice and crisp! I did try cooking a pizza on a screen in the BS oven, but it completely changed the character of the crust, and not to my liking. Nothing compares to having the entire bottom crust in full contact with a hot stone.

Here's a replacement entry. Since the TD didn't specify what kind of pizza I made breakfast pizza. Breakfast pizza is a internationally recognized form of pizza and is one of my favorites.

This is my official entry pic.

After conferring with Moose, as well as with Bob and Ronelle for independent third party confirmation, we regret to inform you that you made a beautiful, delicious, breakfast quiche.

It really does look great but it is not a pizza, and therefore worthy of a dilly bar. Sorry Keith.

LOL...according to who you consulted Moose it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. :pound:

Ask them what the heck the definition of breakfast pizza is then. What's the difference between the two?

I think your problem here is that you're defining it by what you choose to call it, not by what it actually is. It's a quiche. I appreciate the creativity, really, it looks great, but it isn't a pizza. Calling it one doesn't change that. By your logic, If I cook an apple pie and call it a dessert pizza, I guess I'm good to go?

Show me what a breakfast pizza is ...also show me what a quiche is. That's all.

Do ingredients matter? Does the type of dough matter?

A quiche is thick with an egg based filling and meats and cheese. A quick look through google images does not show anything that remotely resembles what you entered under breakfast pizza.. Slap a couple bacon slices on top of any of those breakfast quiches though....

Oh ...Ok one dish used eggs that were beaten, and one used un beaten eggs. How foolish of me

No now I see some with different dough...Oh it must me a dough rule! Now I get it. I learn so much from people like Bob... Thanks bud.
