We had a succesful weekend at Greenfield State Park in NH. My wife entered the weekend fearful and left talking about the next trip. :thumb:
I bought a 18x36" grill grate off Amazon. Worked out pretty well. I learned I need to plan on more time to get the fire going and more wood to keep it going. I also brought the Mini WSM for use as a cooker/grill.
Friday night when we got there we cooked some burgers indirect on the WSM followed by a reverse sear over the hot coals. This worked great. The kids cooked hot dogs on sticks which they got a kick out of. I threw a couple on with the burgers.
Saturday night I fired up the mini WSM again for some chicken. Seasoned Salt and Pepper for the Family and Todd's Dirt for me. I used a cast iron skillet for some boil in bag rice and put the corn directly on the grate.
For desert we tried some upside down cake which I wasn't a big fan of apart from putting the dutch oven in the coals.
Sunday morning, I frizzled some ham in the dutch oven and made pancakes in the cast iron skillet. My wife tried to warm her coffee on the grate which luckily didn't catch fire!
Overall a great weekend and I learned a lot!
