So in order to check the thermometer I do have, is the best method to use boiling water? What is water's boiling point temp? And does it increase after that? Do I have to stand over the pot until it starts boiling or I will miss that point if I don't?

212f when it's boiling it's boiling.or you can set it in a glass of icewater(plenty of ice) & check for 32f
