And wasn't this year's contest unique in that there was not the normal unbearable heat? I remember back in 2006, our atomic clock said it was 113 degrees under our canopy as were prepped for the Friday night sponsor dinner. I kneeled down to pull a box out from under a table and I couldn't get back up. I had serious heat issues twice that weekend.

I don't think there has been anyone work harder this year at getting a GC than Chase and Mary, congrats to them! Instead of them coming to the Royal to visit us, we'll be going to visit them!

It was a fun cook...Good weather... and its great they had a Kids Q..Always nice when theres stuff for the kids..My daughters were 15th and 1st in there age groups..

Had a great time cooking with Phil and Jamie. A great bunch of people around us and fun talking to old friends and meeting new ones.

Had to laugh - about 7 years ago Boone County was the first contest I ever cooked at. As I was walking around on Friday I saw another team that had my brother's and mine exact same set up. An ECB, a Smoke n Pit from west lakes and a blue ez up. Throw in a tent and I would have been home.
