The Bare Bones BBQ Competition which is part of the Gulf Coast Halloween Carnaval et Fete de Rue in Pass Christian, MS will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 & 29. The trophies for this contest are handmade by a local artist. Trophies will be awarded for 1st place in the 4 categories and Reserve Grand, Grand Champion and People's Choice Winner. 2nd place through 5th will receive medals. Team sign-up is slow and the organizer is concerned about this first year, licensed contest. If you know of anyone in the area that might be interested in competing please point them to the link above and ask that they consider this contest. It looks like it is going to be a fun weekend with plenty of time to enjoy some of the festivities before having to start cooking.
