Running the RT590 with apple pellets. Supposedly these are a mix of hickory and apple. I wanted to run a less impactful pellet than mesquite and try and get the smoke flavor from the mini splits. One tube has mesq. And the other has oak. Hopefully they turn out good. Smells great for now.

Curious if you like the flavor. I never liked the flavor of smoldering pellets. The smoke setting on the Rec Tec is decent for an hour or two, but the stick burning diffuser was a game changer for me in terms of smoke flavor.

I think the mini splits are covering up that flavor. However I’d like to try charcoal pellets in the tube with the splits.
