A Few of My Favorite Things

I just wanted to add this one, especially as a historical reference. It is a cancelled throwdown -- yes, such a thing can happen!

In this one, there were only two entries, one of which was DQ'ed toward the end of the voting because it was not even cooked. That's right, and despite it being raw, it still garnered 25% of the votes! What I love about this is the discussion that eventually leads to comment #29. No, please don't read ahead and ruin it. It's best to go through the thread comment by comment until you get there. It's only a couple pages and well worth the wait!
I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not like that at all.

Well, I have to add this Noureau Quisine throwdown as one of my favorites

For me this was absolutely incredible. Just try to tell me there is only one winner here. They're all fabulous and it is impossible to choose. I especially loved Wrench_H's entry shown here:

To me this really captured it, but I didn't vote for it so that it would qualify for the Zero Club.

Just one of the 2 x 4 events that happen here almost weekly! :becky:

That was a mouth-watering throwdown too!

Normally I like to digest things a bit, but I have to include this right now. The Summer hors d'ouerves and Cocktails throwdown has to be one of my all time favorites for several reasons. First, Bigabyte stepped up to the plate and hit a Grand Slam with this mighty shot.

I knew this was a winner as soon as I saw it. The only weakness is that he used some inferior Balsamic glaze that soaked into the meat rather than resting neatly on top. He'll definitely be looking for another source for future throwdowns. There were some fabulously creative entries. I especially loved Curt's many cocktails:

Things really began to heat up on page 7

when Team e-gore was DQ'ed for a blatant disregard of the rules. I really should learn to read those, but there are just so many nowadays.

What ensued was the most entertaining and fun Throwdown in some time. I thoroughly enjoyed everyone's participation, especially Bill's many bulls that continued running even in the Voting thread. For me this even surpassed the Great Chicken Burger Debacle of 2010. It was especially satisfying that Mr. Big finally came through with a very well deserved win.

I have to say that the lamb with mashed potatoes is the best food art I've seen. Gore has done others, but, to me, that tops the list.

And I'd agree with big on Rick's photo except for one thing... I wish he'd fixed the white balance... It would have been perfect then!
