"The BBQ Brethren.. From the Backyard to the American Royal!"
And then the Jack!
Wish us luck guys.. We're GOIN IN!!

We were one of the first original teams here on the site back in 2004. I used to have to re-charge my cell phone in between calls because I'd get calls from just about every regular back in those days.
It was Phil's dream for one of us to go from the backyard to the American Royal.
This year, it's happened to a great many of us. We've come a long way my brother!
We'll see you there! I hope we all do well!
And I wish our brother KCQuer was still with us.......

I'm like one of those compounds out in Idaho... I have enough BBQ supplies, Jack and Sun Drop to last through a nuclear war... I started digging a new bunker in my back forty for more supplies...

They bottle Sundrop about 6 miles from my house here in good old Missouri. Holler if you ever get into a bind, or swing south 10 miles from I-70 next time your headed toward KC.

Now, 1843 and Sundrop, that's a highway!

Sounds like a Brethren Road Trip for the books.

Phil (and all),

Here is wishing you a great trip, great cooking, and even greater luck with the judges.

Have a grand time and keep us posted.

730 down and 120 miles to go to the hotel in richmond indiana. some observations.

13 cracker barrels
21 waffle houses

there are more black cars on the road than any other color and a ram 2500 hemi pulls a 6000lb trailer a world of difference apart from an escalade.

An escalade gets 11MPG while pulling, a RAM 2500 hemi gets 6.

gas is real cheap here compared to NY. :)

Long Island developers have not built on EVERY piece of green on the planet. Thats the predominant color in Ohio. I promise not to tell.

we planned on taking pictures of every "welcome to" sign as we crossed a state line.

the first was jersey and we forgot.

then came Pennsylvania and i took it.. but dont have a camera cable to uload it.. so we used this one

and switched to dannys camera for the rest of the pictures.

then we crossed into West virginia. I tool a picture of the sign, and just as we went under it, the truck bounced and I got this.

but luckily danny took one.

but were not sure what that reall says, so we are going with this one. Notice the authenticity behind it.

shortly after, we tried for Ohio, it was then we realized that it aint gonna happen. So we said farkit and went with this one. WE couldnt even get that one right.

we stopped at this placve on the side of the road in Ohio... said 'best pizza... best sandwiches, enuf said'.. so being from NY, I of course believed them and got me some...

its been 90 minutes... Um.. ok.. yeah... enuf said....

i wanted Shawn to pull over so i can digestively pollute a creek for revenge, but he wouldnt...

Mental note for future trips... .. don't travel with environmentalists.

no pics, didnt happen...
