Thank you! You're too kind Dan... Hope all is well with you! :-DJeanie,
You continue to amaze me post after post - year after year. You are the best.
Absolutely lovely, Jeanie! :clap2:
I could eat all that until I exploded and be happy about it. Some folks look at me funny when I tell them how much I love catfish and I just take comfort in knowing that they're wrong.
Very nicely done once again, Jeanie! :hungry:
What GTR said, The Society for Eating Catfish With a Smile approves this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other than that, Miss J you eat better in the wild... over wood....than most of the civilized world does with full kitchens!!!! Most excellent post....as usual.!
Mmmmmmmm catfish...
Looks fantastic Jeanie!
Got me about thinking of catfish for breakfast Jeannie.
You’re apologizing for combining photos from 2 great camp cooks into one post? You could have combined the into one meal and I’d still be happy. [emoji3]
Looks like great food and fun from here.

Thanks so much Dom! It was a short camp trip but nice to be able to sit by the water and wet a line. :-DPerfection. Looks superb, bet it tasted just even better. As always, your posts are an inspiration.
Heck Gary! Hope you're doing some fishing this summer! Thanks. :-DAwesome, Jeanie! Lakeside fish dinners are the best.
Thanks Pat! I was lucky enough to bring fish home for the freezer too. There's that big 'ole fish fry I was talking about!
I wouldn't throw that steak in the lake, either!
Beautiful work and setting as usual, Jeanie.
Thanks so much Joe! Very kind of you!As usual Jeanie, BEAUTIFUL!!! That is a gorgeous setting to enjoy some mighty FINE looking grub! :thumb:
Double good! Thanks Ed! :mrgreen:Good, Good!!

Sitting by the curb with my tackle box.
Thank you George! Very kind of you! :-DYou can never have too many Pics That is what you call Good eats
Steaks look great but the fried catfish and fries look to die for!!
lol Heck Dave! You'll have to try it. You do the cookin' while I fish! Thanks!I am not familiar with this type of camping...maybe Ive been camping in the wrong area

When you're posting, there is no such thing as too many pics! Great cooks!
You're a kind friend Hoss... Thanks! :-DI need to do some research to see if they give James Beard Awards and Michelin Stars for live fire cooking. If they do,I know who I' m gonna nominate!!! OUTSTANDING!
Call me crazy but I'd go for the catfish before the steak. I can eat fried catfish until I'm almost sick. Your cooking is outstanding and making me hungry.
Jeanie. I'm getting really tired of your always perfectly presented cooks. Giving you a hard critique on this one.
Expanded metal is cheating for grill marks.
"Fancy" counts for nothing. Taste rules. Those look great and mouth watering. Rather eat by the campfire than a 5 star any day.
Good stuff Jeanie, I'd give anything for a plate of your fresh fried catfish & fries that looks so good!!!
Trying to combine a couple of camp meals into one post. Sorry for so many pics!
Supper at the lake.
Started a skillet of tatoes and onions. Also some garlic mushrooms in butter...
The steaks cook quick!
That's it. Steak, mushrooms, tatoes and stuff from the garden...
Next night I cooked up some of the catfish we caught...
heating the oil...
I dip the catfish in a mixture of cornmeal, a bit of flour, cayenne, salt, and lemon pepper...
I season fresh cut tatoes in the same cornmeal mixture...
Supper....
Catfish, tatoes and a cold beer to wash it down.
It wasn't fancy, but tasted good at the time!
Thanks for looking!
