Copperhead 5 New Casters & Beef Ribs/Wings Cooking

Ribs done. Meat fell off it so I had to eat some.

Getting wing sauce ingredients together.

You needed those wheels to keep the CH from bogging in the soft, wet ground at Sip and Swine. Definitely a nice upgrade.

Crazy happy about the way the wings came out. Just like when I do the on my egg at the same temp they were nice and crispy. Even after I sauced half of them those that were sauced didn't get soft.

Copperhead keeps crushing it. You could do a ton of wings on this thing :-D.

Gosh darn it you... I was secretly hoping the wings would be a major flop! I don’t need to spend more money... lol. How many lbs of wings did you cook and were they just confined to one grate or would they spread across more than one grate. I’ve been looking for an easy way to cook upwards of 20 lbs of wings when we host “finger food” type get togethers.

This was maybe 10lbs of jointed wings that I broke down and spread across 2 grates. I could have gotten a little more on those 2 grates. And I still had 3 more grates I could have gotten wings on.

Those beef ribs look real good. And the chicken wings look crispier than the "Vortex" wings I cook on the kettle. I need to air dry my next batch of wings before I cook.

I'm learning great deal about the Copperhead from your cooks. I still haven't fired up mine yet but I feel confident I'm going to love the smoker based on your cooks.

My dad loves crispy wings and the first comment out of his mouth (full of wings) was "these are crispy".

Smoke flavor of course on the meat is lighter, but it is there. I haven't cooked or had food off a lot of pellet cookers, but when people say there is "no smoker flavor" or "very very little" I don't think that is the case with my CH5.

It is there and quite pleasant. I know it is mostly people coming from a stick burner or charcoal with chunks. But it will never match that. With being active, having one little one and another on the way, turning a dial and putting out great food is very appealing :-D.

The pizza will be on the egg later though :becky:

Nicely done Jason Ribs and wings look perfect
Looks like Tiny Human approved
Are you showing what Tiny Human 2 has to look forward with Great BBQ :biggrin1:

Wow, wonder where he learned "cheers" from? Nice pizza, and it certainly looks kid approved.

I kinda want one of these. They never dropped below 199 in my area so I didnt bite. Costco has a 7 series right now for $449...obviously a far cry from $1xx but it was pretty big.

Ya that 7 series is taller and more racks. Not a bad deal for $449. The 5 series is well worth $200 if that happens again. Maybe that 7 series will also drop in price :becky:
