Dude... I have no words for how fantastic that looks. Mainly because I know anything I say won’t do that justice. WHAT DID YOU DO!

The best way I can describe what I’m seeing is Michelangelo, Zeus, and Oprah Winfrey had a baby. That baby became a chef who was trained by Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay, and Aaron Franklin and later was blessed by the pope. Following that blessing God himself sent a message to the chef to cook a dish that would bring world peace to the entire world and this is that dish. A properly cooked brisket could end all wars I say! Ok things just got weird. Sorry!

there is no way that you have to spend 5k to by a great pellet grill ! i have an 8 yr old gmg db that puts out amazing food .

too bad the old pelletheads is gone :(

Not true in all cases, some are leary and just tiptoe into the waters.
That's exactly what i did. Ended up with a Pellet Pro. I thought it was the best bang for the buck. Does feel like cheating but it doesn't disappoint. I like the cheating on the final exam comment! I guess there could be a more expensive PG in my future... can't rule that out. If i pull the trigger it wouldn't be because i need it or more capacity or anything logical.

Either someone’s amazing with Photoshop or someone just flat out knows to cook a brisket [emoji15]. I already know the answer and I humbly sit at your feet and ask... teach me (pretty please) [emoji120][emoji4]

Hard to argue pellet pro for bang for buck. Plus all the add ons you could make it do whatever you wanted it to do

No one here is against GMG’s. I like them and think they are an excellent value especially with the WiFi. We are just saying that there are a lot of good pellet grills and then there are a few great ones. I’m also not going to lie when I say that to go from good grill to great one you pretty much double or even triple the price tag. The question is whether that’s worth it to you. It’s not different than cars or anything else for that matter. I used to own a GMG and liked it but it was just too large and I wanted to try something different (it was the gmg big pig rig)

Cooked first brisket on the Pitts and Spitts Maverick 1250. Sorry for image quality. I didn’t plan on posting and was just texting photos to a friend. I really love this pellet grill. Very easy to use and held a 3-4 degree temp range all night per my Fireboard

Can’t see the pics! Those Mavericks are sweet smokers by the way. I like the build quality.

LOL.....you’re the elder MAK statesman. I’m sure there’s plenty I can learn from you.

I agree with that but I’m glad I dropped the extra money and bought a MAK. I have no idea if it produces a better product than a less expensive grill but I’m quite certain that the build quality is miles above an overseas produced cooker. Is that important? I suppose that depends on the individual. I’m a sucker for really well built stuff, particularly stuff that’s 100% made in USA. I’m also blessed that I’m able to spend that kind of money, although I am in no way wealthy. Just a hard working guy who doesn’t mind dropping a few dollars on a great American made product.
So you definitely don’t need to drop thousands in order to produce great food. But the MAK enhances the joy I get out of cooking. So does my Stumps, another great American made product . But that’s just me.

I did the "dip my toe into the water" thing. I bought a new Camp Chef Smoke Pro on clearance for $180.00. I used it for about 8 months and learned a lot about pellet cooking. I learned that I really enjoyed it.

I decided to start saving up for a Yoder, after doing a lot of research.

Then I saw one used on CL, and had to buy it. It is everything I thought it would be. Sold the Camp Chef for $125.00 (with generic cover and upper rack) to some one who was "dipping his toe into the water"...
