Open a BBQ restaurant, they said. It will be fun, they said

Haven't been online for a couple of weeks and just saw this... I followed this thread since the beginning as a lurker and like many others, it was one of the reasons I joined the Brethren.

I hope and pray that Jeremy and his family are OK.

Anyone else notice the new Pitmaster was standing in front of a Shirley Fabrication Cooker (@Tuscaloosa Q). Likely the one Jeremy bought from Paul to help meet his demand. Sad to see this thriving popular business close.

I messaged the former pitmaster on Facebook a couple days back asking about what happened. He had said that all the employees were told they no longer had jobs and the Prized Pig was shutting down. He then talked to the owner of the property and was given the go ahead to sell BBQ from the parking lot.

I know that the food trailer and the Shirley were part of the Prized Pig... I am disappointed and a little confused about what happened - hope all is well with Jeremy!

The most popular podcast right now is "Missing Richard Simmons," which discusses his sudden disappearance from the public eye. Fark that! What's up with Jeremy?

I wish him the best. Perhaps he won the lottery and decided to follow his other lifelong dream of being a rodeo clown?

Excuse the poor attempt to inject some levity into the conversation. I really do hope everything is OK.

At some point in time, I hope Maru (Jeremy) comes back here, whether to make a post updating the story, or to just get a way and relax for a while reading about Q. We might want to consider that when we post.

He put this out there for all to see. If Jeremy wants the irresponsible speculation to stop he will finish his story. If not we will continue to guess. Don't want to be talked about don't put yourself out there.

Right or wrong i feel he owes us some closure here. We all took the ride and what a ride it was. We followed the ups and downs like a roller coaster not knowing a piece of track was missing around the bend.

He doesn't OWE us anything. I hope just like the rest of us to find out what happened, but he doesn't owe us that. I too hope that everything is ok for Jeremy and family!

and another one! What a fun, friendly website. :blah: Now I remember why the BBQ blogs with friendly people are much preferred.

"and another one!"

Try not to act such the victim.

The Brethren site is incredibly friendly with a lot of fun jabbing at one another at times, and the occasional knock-down-drag-out disagreement which just affirms the passion a lot of folks feel for the topic we discuss.

Grow some thicker skin and stick around, and I'm confident you will come to understand what I am trying to convey.

Not what I'm seeing but may give it another try on occasion. Meanwhile I found another blog (Grillinfools) just yesterday I get much more out of. Later.
