I figured I'm just sticking with those Pickled Garlic Dry Martinis from now on...

Here goes - Garnaal's Pickled Garlic..

also make nice and fancy X-mas gifts.. (they are real proud ($$) of that in gourmet stores...)

get a 3 lbs bag of peeled garlic at Sams for $6...
get little glass sealable jars at the container store

and here's my base pickle recipe (taste it and add more sugar if you like it sweeter..)
add 1 Tblsp Curry powder or 1 Tblsp Paprika powder to the pickle in the little jars and shake it to dissolve..)
let it pickle for ~ 3 - 4 weeks in the fridge to get up to taste..

Thanks for the recipe.
I have tried to make pickled garlic before but it always turns out crunchy. Is there a technique to soften the garlic before pickling?
My garlic has turned blue and green also like your link mentions.

I prefer them when they stay a bit crunchy.. buit if you want them softer -
try boiling them for a couple of minutes in the pickle - that should soften them up a bit..
