Thanks!

I learned from team e-gore how a little extra creative effort in your presentation can make a difference. But, the steak really was good.

CD is not only creative, he is also a professional photographer. It takes allot of planning to win one of these!

Good entries, brothers. CD, you got the essence of caveman in the wood plate and fork, and what a great fork! Phubar, I love the ember image of a 'skull' in the top left between the aluminum foil and the meat, though I guess cavemen didn't have tin foil. Have to love that skull ember, though. The moon and stars over meat on embers is very authentic looking. Hmmmmm, to choose, to choose.

I see what you are doing here. :becky:

Cooking good food takes creativity. A lot of people on this forum are a lot more creative than they may think they are. It may take some effort to dig for that idea you can't wait to execute, but it's there, and it's a lot of fun when you find it, and do it. I only have four TD wins in three years. If you look at the double-digit winners, the thing they have in common is a little extra effort, whether it is the preparation, the cook, the presentation, or the pictures.

My entry was not weeks in the making -- actually hours. I just got into caveman mode, and let it roll. The fork was actually a last minute idea. I whittled that thing while my coals were getting started.

The best thing about these throwdowns is letting your imagination run free, and having fun trying to pull off what your mind comes up with. I find, that if I focus on trying to win, I end up losing, and don't have any fun.

Actually CD, I was trying to complement you and make a point at the same time. Point being, you have talent and a eye for what looks good. I would not say it if I did not see it. Great entry CD! Now, can we all go and make grunting noises while we eat our meat!!!

There's nothing I like better than a great steak with a nice glass of wine, so Al's entry really spoke to me! But then came CD. His entry was over the top. I mean, he ground peppercorns with a farkin' rock for cryin' out loud!!! It was a tough decision, but I had to go with CD in the end.

I see the zero train has pretty much derailed. Now it is just this:
