What kind of pron gets you the most excited?

as all brethren, nothing excites me more than seeing a thread tagged with "pron." But, some food pron excites me more than others. Just curious to see what food you like to see pron of the most.

Most people probably get excited by pron of exotic, less-smoked meats since they are not used to seeing pictures of it, but personally my favorite pron to look at is still brisket. I am still fascinated by it, partly because I find it a very hard piece of meat to get right, and it is very unpredictable. I have smoked great brisket, but I have also smoked some lousy brisket, with very little difference between the cooks. I guess i just get excited to see if the person nailed it or not because, for me, it is such a hard meat to master.

What's your favorite pron? Any sort of smoked fish is a close second for me because I rarely ever smoke, which is definately a shame.

And to not be a hypocrite, i thought i would just add some pron for the heck of it.

I like brisky for all the reasons you mentioned. But I like it all. I want to see what stuff is supposed to look like, as opposed to how mine looks! LOL

I like the pron from some of our members in particular. This is because of their skill in presentation and use of a camera. Really doesn't matter what the cook was, if the photo looks like it should be in a magazine, I dig it.

But, in particular, I like to see when someone does something I have not seen before and photographs the process, as what I am really here for is to learn about what others are doing and how I might integrate that into my cooking.

i definately agree. I am amazed at the skill of some of the brethren. presentation and camera skills are definately not my strong points so i really appreciate the skill of some of the brethren

haha thats one of the truest statements i have heard in awhile. it is definately humbling.

absolutely. this site is like a wikipedia of bbq. all the best bbqers from around the world sharing their knowledge. i guess that's why brisket pron is my favorite because i love seeing the different methods people use for brisket. after seeing some great hot and fast brisket pron i am inspired to try that in the near future

To me, it doesn't matter what kind of meat, fish, cheese, whatever it is. As long as it's cooked properly and looks moist and juicy, or whatever way it's supposed to look, I get excited. If it makes me drool, I'm there. Needless to say, I've done a lot of drooling in the past couple months! :thumb:

Oh, probably RIBS.....

.....but as has been said, I'm always drooling when there's well photographed pron of any kind. It only challenges me to get better at it, especially the photography. I have a cheap digital camera, but my stuff looks better than it used to and I give all credit to this place. I never EVER took photos of food until finding this place.

I tend to click on build, modification, or some other type of fabrication pics more than the food pics. Am I the only one who does this?

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing pics of good food too. There's some amazing chuck roast pics on here!

I'm kinda of like Tish and some others here. If it's food that's so good looking that it makes me drool, then I'm a happy camper! Just show me some great shots of food that looks so tasty that I want to hit it, then I'm all over it! The cooks on this forum have inspired me to take my game up a whole bunch of notches. I still like to keep my dishes simple, but I'm no longer satisfied to cook a limited variety of food that are just "OK".
I had gotten so bored of QUE-ing that all I had done for several years was just use a gas grill to cook up chops, hot dogs and burgers. I had even stopped cooking ribs over charcoal. One day Greyeagle and his son completed a big offset, smoked some ribs and I started getting inspired. Then Greyeagle turned me on to this forum, and the inspiration continued to build. I read articles here about building cookers (and drooled over the cooker pron as well), they talked me into building a UDS to begin with, and the rest has just spiraled up and up due to my Brethren pointing the way. And, it usually starts with the pron! So, yes, any good looking pron gets my taste buds excited.

Brisket, but any pron posted by guys like PattioDaddio and NorthwestBBQ to name two because I know they are excellent photographers as well as great pit guys. Hate when all I have for Pron is my camera on my phone...turns impressive stuff into dull looking stuff. Good camera is a must.
