Beautiful post. I've done a lot of these throwdowns and one requirement is do NOT take these things seriously! Almost always I am left scratching my head wondering how the dish I thought would be a runaway winner (not mine usually), only gets 1 or 2 or even zero votes, and the one I thought, "well, that didn't turn out right," ends up winning. I am convinced that if Chris ran 3 voting threads with the same dishes, he'd more often than not get 3 different winners. How many times have we seen a winner one week get a zero or 1 vote the next... or vice versa? Heck, Guerry even submitted the same dish in two throwdowns, received one vote one week and won the next ... with the very same dish! Logic cannot be applied, so just enjoy.
One thing I have noticed over the months is that those who do participate regularly show tremendous improvement in their cooking, plating, and photography skills. It's a very good mind and cooking exercise to try to participate every week.
While a zero is great, I get satisfaction even when a single voter chooses my dish over all the others. When I look at the others, I find that a pretty good achievement.

First, I want to say THANKS!!!! to Chris for all that you do to keep the TD's alive and well.:clap:
Now for my story:
I entered the Memorial Day TD 2010. I after entering, I realized my plating and photography skills sucked and my "low 'n slo" skills were even worse.....AND......I was now a member of the ZERO club, how humiliating!!!!!! I was bummed and determined to NEVER enter another TD.
After moping and lurking around here for a while, I noticed that membership in the ZERO club was not a bad thing but rather a " badge of courage" if you will. I entered another TD, very sure I would get another ZERO. I found I was checking the vote count often and happy that I had not received any votes. (I was actually rooting for failure :loco When someone voted for my entry, I was crushed.....I had failed at failure, BUT.....I was a more improved failure (HUH!) because of the folks in this thread and on this forum.
As an improved failure :-D:-D this is what I learned:
