Just another camp breakfast. Sort of a meat dish with a side of more meat. :)

Browned some sausage on the tractor rim...

added flour and seasonings...

stirred in the milk... made the gravy on the medium thin side to keep it from getting too thick while the biscuits cooked.

spread out my bacon powder biscuit dough, brushed with bacon drippings and topped with crumbled crisp cooked bacon...

rolled and sliced...

I smooshed them down a bit to make them thinner...wanted to make sure the biscuits cooked through.

I really liked these. The addition of bacon and drippings in the biscuits added a lot of flavor.

Thanks for looking at another breakfast cook!

Now that looks like an awesome take on biscuits and gravy right there. You can vacu-seal me some of that and mail it to me...

Thank you Bob, I'll get some in the mail!

I could eat that every morning for the rest of my life.

Thanks Jeanie.
Mike thanks! I need to make this more often, I liked the way it turned out.
:-D
Has any one ever told you that you are incredible? You are awesome and thanks for sharing!

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say!!

Dang, this just may have converted me to being a biscuits and gravy guy! That looks great!

Were the coals dropped right on top of the biscuits? No issues with ash or ember residue on the bread?

No the lid was on the pot, I should have posted a pic of that.
I just shoveled the hot coals onto the lid and let er sit for about 20 minutes. The gravy was bubbly hot and the biscuits browned and cooked from the top.
Thanks again!

Sorry about that, I added the info to my post. :)

Hey, Raichlen does caveman steaks like that so I thought maybe you were making some cavewoman biscuits! :)

You had me at "Gravy". That looks Soooo good. I AM going to try this. Out of curiousity, you mention adding spices to the sausage/flour/milk. What else would you/did you add to that?
Thank you for the perfect post!

Dang it Jeanie you're killin me!!!!

Anytime you want to adopt me I'm all in for moving to Texas.
I'll even bring you a new tractor rim :becky:

I've made a lot of gravy in my life and it takes my undivided attention while making it to get it right, and here you are making it in a DO and and biscuits, then put the lid on it and walk away for 20mins and it comes out perfect!!! Never seen that.

When I grow up, I wanna be able to cook just 1/4 as good as you can!! Great breakfast!
