Just wondering if any Kamado Joe owners could help me out. I just bought a classic joe today and there are two stainless steel pieces that look like an ash catcher that I do not know where to install. The owners manual doesn't say anything about it. Any thoughts?

You are correct. Place the larger metal piece in the bottom then the firebowl on top of it. The tray will slide in and out through the vent. Very handy.

Thanks Chris. Just wanted to make sure since none of the assembly pictures showed it.

I was also assembling one today and the "wings" on the ash pan didnt line up very well so I just left it out until I can rebend it. That was the only thing in the package that was kind of cheap. First cook today was incredible- so happy I went with KJ, this thing is awesome.
