Eatin Ribs this past weekend (pics)

Decided to see what Restaurant Depot had for ribs so I went by Saturday and picket up 6 slabs. Everything they had was frozen, so I waited till Sunday to smoke-em.

Marinated in Dr. Pepper for 3 hours and then a dry rub. Used the 2-1-1- with hickory. Sprayed with AJ and butter during the foil. Used a little BBQ sauce, honey and AJ for a glaze.

They were quite tasty.

Damnit, I want ribs for dinner now.
Lets see here if I go to store now.......
Oh well forget it. :frown: I won't be eating till midnight if I did that.:p
 
Good lookin ribs Jeff. I use dr. pepper a lot. I really like the distinct flavor it gives it. Try reducing a 2 litre bottle of it and use it that way. Give it a stronger dr. pepper flavor. MMmmmm:grin:
 
I have not found any way that it affects the meat. It does add a little flavor. I use it most meats including steak, except fowl. Those I use a brine with a little maple syrup.


The soda doesn,t affect the meat in any way?
